My Heart Beats in the Image and Likeness of God

January 21, 2022 by Lou Ricardo in Shelter

Pink and blue flags stand proudly along Boyette Road! In memory of the 63 million babies lost since the 1973 Supreme Court ruling of Roe vs Wade legalized abortion across the land, white remembrance crosses with pink and blue flags are displayed along the St. Stephen Catholic Church property adjacent to Boyette Road. The Annual Memorial to the Unborn promotes pro-life discussions and prayer within families.

Respecting life is all about honoring the dignity and sanctity of human life as a gift from God that needs to be protected from the moment of conception to natural death. Jeanne Lewis is a supporter of Catholic Charities, a parishioner at St. Stephen Catholic Church, head of its Respect Life Ministry and most importantly a fighter for the unborn! Jeanne said the memorial “is a teaching moment for parents. The basis for teaching young people about abortion is the same basis on which we teach that the commandment ‘Thou Shalt Not Kill’.”

St. Stephen Catholic Church Respect Life Ministry continues the fight for life! On the weekends of January 15/16 and 22/23, their Annual Baby Shower encourages families to drop off baby supplies. Catholic Charities Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center picks up these supplies for mothers in need. According to Foundations of Life Director LiLiana Gimenez, “We could not accomplish our mission without the unfailing partnership of the different parishes and groups that support our learning mentoring program.”

Jeanne wants to share the respect life message beyond their ministry and prayer vigils. You can participate in Spiritual Adoption. See the attached information about Spiritual Adoption and prayer below. Jeanne encourages you to share the Meet Baby Olivia video, click here! Jeanne said, “A fetus is not a “potential life” as many would have you believe, but a “life with potential!”

Foundations of Life Pregnancy Center provides free counseling, resources and education for women facing unplanned pregnancies with the goal of having them choose life. Learn more at www.foundationsoflife.org. Further, Project Rachel offers healing after abortion, click here! To support Foundations of Life, please text FOLBaby to 41444 or click here!
