Pinellas Hope: Meal Packing event to attack Global Hunger

Event on: 2016-February 6th 9:00 AM - 2:30 AM

Join us February 6th from 9am to 2:30pm at ‪#‎PinellasHope‬ for a morning of reflection on global hunger, followed by a simple lunch, after which we will pack these very meals for Burkina Faso, a country in West Africa. The registration fee is $10 and will cover lunch and all program expenses. Please join us and live the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ himself as as we perform Corporal Works of Mercy by serving those in need and helping to feed the poor!

Parishes, schools and campus ministries of our diocese participate in Rice Bowl, the Catholic Relief Services‘ educational program of prayer, fasting, learning and giving during Lent. Of the funds available for distribution from the CRS Rice Bowl collection, 75% is sent to CRS international headquarters to fund development projects overseas. The 25% retained by our diocese is now being made available for small grants of up to $1,000.00. Diocesan entities may apply for assistance in funding innovative hunger and poverty alleviation efforts, justice education or start-up for CRS projects. The application Deadline is February 10, 2016.
