Diocese of St. Petersburg Area – Cold Weather Shelters

(Updated Dec. 3, 2018)

Extremely cold temperatures are moving through the Greater Tampa Bay area (low 30’s to upper 20’s) from today through Saturday night. These low temperatures and wind chills are dangerous to anyone who will be outside for long periods of time. Children, the elderly and pets are especially vulnerable to the cold and extra care should be taken to protect them. Residents who must be outside overnight or during the early morning hours are encouraged to dress in several warm layers, and limit skin exposure to the wind. As a result, counties are advertising the available shelters for the homeless.

The following shelters will open at 6 pm each evening and will close the following morning at 7 am through Saturday, January 6th.
