Residency Criteria

Individuals who meet the basic criteria outlined below may pursue the application, interview, screening, and assessment process. Upon completion of its review, the Admissions Committee will make a determination as to the appropriateness of residency for the applicant.

Applicants for residency at Benedict Haven must:

Be age 18 or older
Have a primary diagnosis which is psychiatric
Be under the ongoing care of a psychiatrist
Be capable of medication, self-administration, and will to adhere to prescribed pharmacological regiments
Be capable of living harmoniously in a “community-like” setting
Have the need and desire to live in a structured environment
Comply with recommended treatment plans
Have no significant medical problems
Be continuously “substance-abuse” free
