Housing and self-sufficiency for Veterans made possible with funding by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Veteran volunteers provide transportation and other assistance.

Program requirements: 

  • – At-risk or homeless Veterans and their families
  • – Honorable or General Discharge
  • – Capable of independent living
  • – Meet financial requirements 
  • – Regular attendance a monthly meetings
  • – Random drug and alcohol testing
  • – Comply with home inspections
  • – Put 5% of income towards savings
  • – Requalify every 6 months to determine continued program eligibility

Residents are offered free basic essentials in the program pantry.

Program Description

  • Up to 2-year program to transition to self-sufficiency
  • – Provides the following:
    •      – Furnished housing at one of two locations:
      •             – Pinellas Village (2 or 3 bedroom apartments)
      •             – Pinellas Hope II & III (efficiency units)
    •      – Utilities are provided.
    •      – Food made available through donations and referrals for Food Stamps
    •      – Nutrition and Financial Management classes
    •      – Weekly case management help attain goals
    •      – VA liaison for referrals to VA Healthcare programs if eligible
    •      – Employment assistance
    •      – Job counseling, resume development and interviewing skills
    •      – Referrals to partners who provide additional employment assistance
    •      – Clothing and shoes

Costs:

  • – 30% of any earned income
