HIV/AIDS Services Hillsborough County
A continuum of services designed to support and improve living situations of persons with HIV/AIDS are provided including:
- Permanent Housing: Four apartments. We assist individuals and families who are stable enough to live independently. Referrals are made to the housing program by case managers, social service agencies, and housing providers or by self-referral. Limited transportation is available. Tenants are required to pay rent based on their income.
- Transitional Housing: This service component offers a safe and supportive living environment with varying levels of support. Transitional Living Centers are available for single women and women with children at Mercy House, a supportive housing program with 24 hour staff availability. Residents are required to pay a portion of the living expenses based upon their income. In addition, Mercy House offers limited transportation, case management, and assistance in finding permanent housing and leisure time activities.
- Voucher Program: HOPWA funded vouchers are available to qualified individuals to pay a portion of the rent at a voucher program eligible rental property. In addition to rent subsidy the program provides a utility allowance.
