Red Day at Tampa Hope: Renew, Energize and Donate

Keller Williams Realty South Tampa (KWRST) and partners support Catholic Charities Tampa Hope through gardening, landscaping, organizing, donating, serving and more during Red Day on May 12, 2022.

Red Day falls on every second Thursday in May for the agents of Keller Williams Realty South Tampa. On this day, the team remembers their Red Day essentials: renew, energize and donate. Catholic Charities’ Tampa Hope homeless shelter was this year’s lucky beneficiary of these upstanding, charitable principles of action. According to KWRST Associate Correy Hartzog, “Today we step away from our daily business duties and proudly wear our red shirts to venture out into the community to serve.”

And serve they did! On every square inch of Tampa Hope you found agents in red gardening, organizing, landscaping, and serving food. Tampa Hope Program Director Cynthia Jones-Northington, upon reflection of the vast volunteer effort before her, said, “Volunteering is an awesome part of service and when we have such a great group come out it shows the level of their charity and compassion.”

The KWRST group is never alone in their charity! Thanks to their various partners, including BizzeeBee Marketing and College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving, they were able to donate much needed supplies to Tampa Hope, from household items to toiletries.  Senior Move Consultant Jeff Mancinik with College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving said, “Service work shows that the amazing and hard-working people at College H.U.N.K.S. truly care and put their words into actions.”

Catholic Charities programs, like Tampa Hope, can help people in need while promoting the sanctity and dignity of their lives in large part because of the charitable, compassionate care of volunteers and groups like KWRST!

Tampa Hope provides a safe living environment for homeless individuals; providing meals, clothing, counseling and more as they work to return to the path of self-sufficiency.  Click here to learn more! To donate cash now, text TAMPAHOPE to 91999. Click here to donate!
