Monday, January 20th is a BIG DAY – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – a national, federal holiday – and Inauguration Day! Citrus County
We wanted to give ample notice that the Citrus County Cold Weather Shelter will be open on SUNDAY- JANUARY 19TH and MONDAY-JANUARY 20TH.

It is considered a weekend/Holiday bus schedule as Monday is a Federal Holiday. Please share the bus schedule, it’s always critical on those changed time/days!
This decision was made due to the weather reports having indicated that we can expect the weather to drop to 40 degrees and below.
If you would like to volunteer, PLEASE message us here or text us at 352-234-3099.
As of this moment,
ALL Volunteer spots are open and in great need.
More needs will come out later today/tomorrow for food and other items.
If your agency is working with those experiencing homelessness or perhaps having inadequate heat sources, we ask that you assist us in letting them know that the shelter will be open AND it’s a WEEKEND/HOLIDAY BUS SCHEDULE.
Citrus County Transit will provide transportation to the shelter at no cost.
At this time, we do not have a warming shelter for the participants to segway to, but the Transit system has offered to pick up our clients and drop them off at designated bus stops
